Friends and Neighbors of Ramsey County,
After deep conversations with families, youth, elders, and neighborhood leaders, I am stepping forward to run for Ramsey County Commissioner in District 5. Our community is asking for leadership rooted in lived experience and ready to deliver real results. I am a small business owner, an artist, youth worker, and a mom to a Saint Paul Public Schools first grader, and a proud daughter of the West Side. My life and my work are grounded in this community.
As the State Representative for District 65B and chair of the Saint Paul Delegation, I have championed policies that strengthen working families, support our unhoused neighbors, and invest directly in the neighborhoods that define us. I helped secure funding to expand more than 5,000 voluntary pre-K seats so more children can start school ready to thrive. I delivered nearly $3 million to Listening House to expand day-shelter services in Saint Paul, and $2.4 million for Ramsey County organizations ensuring families facing crisis can access rental help, utility relief, mortgage assistance, and emergency support.
I brought home major investments in community spaces that shape opportunity—funding for the Wellstone Center renovation, statewide arts and cultural programming at the Science Museum, after-school expansion through Boys and Girls Clubs, and early learning access through the Children’s Museum. I also helped secure over $6 million for local infrastructure improvements along Shepard Road and our riverfront corridor, strengthening the foundation for downtown revitalization and safer, more connected neighborhoods.
As a Type 1 diabetic, I know exactly what it feels like to face a life-or-death decision at the pharmacy counter. That is why I organized alongside community to pass Minnesota’s first-in-the-nation Insulin Affordability Act. No family should ever have to choose between medicine and survival. Through my service on the Capital Investment Committee, I have seen how much county leadership matters. District 5 deserves a commissioner who will champion the projects that shape our neighborhoods, strengthen downtown revitalization, and build real partnership across city, county, and state governments on issues like West 7th infrastructure, transportation access, and development that reflects community values. And at a time when immigrant communities are being targeted nationally, I will ensure Ramsey County stands firm with protections, resources, and opportunity for every family.
This campaign is not about one person. It is about who we are and the future we choose to build together.
I am asking you to join us.
Let’s get to work together.
